Humanoid
soccer has seen a lot of progress in recent years, e.g.,
with the introduction of bipedal standard or open platform robots
(Nao, DARwIn-OP), soccer games for larger robots (TeenSize), and
the introduction of competitions for simulated humanoid robots
(3D Simulation).
The
ultimate goal of this initiative is to develop a team of
humanoid soccer players – i.e. robots with human-like motion,
intelligence, and skills in playing soccer. This poses a unique
set of challenges to robotics, AI, and many other fields.
The workshop aims at
bringing together researchers from the RoboCup and FIRA
communities, as well as other researchers interested in the
subject.
The program consists of eight invited presentations, three contributed presentations, and a panel discussion.
